Welcome to Venting Works.
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Venting Works website. By creating an account or using Venting Works services, you agree to comply with these Terms.
1. About Venting Works
Venting Works is a free directory that allows people looking for home-help services and individuals, self-employed workers, businesses, or organizations offering such services to find and contact one another.
Venting Works provides a connection platform only.
Venting Works is not a placement agency, care agency, employer, recruiter, or representative of users of the website.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Venting Works does not participate in agreements made between users and is not a party to contracts that may be entered into between them.
2. Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, publish a listing, or use Venting Works to contact other users.
By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
3. Individuals, Businesses, and Organizations
Venting Works may be used by individuals as well as self-employed workers, businesses, agencies, or organizations offering or seeking services compatible with the purpose of the website.
Users must honestly represent the nature of their activities. A business, agency, or organization must not falsely represent itself as an individual caregiver.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when creating and using your account.
You are also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and access to your account.
You must not create an account using another person's identity, impersonate another person or organization, or knowingly provide false information for the purpose of misleading other users.
Venting Works may use mechanisms such as email-address verification to help ensure the proper functioning of the service. Such verification does not, however, constitute verification of a person's identity.
5. Listings and Profiles
Users are responsible for the content they publish on Venting Works.
Information provided in a listing or profile must, to the best of the user's knowledge, be accurate and not misleading.
Users must not publish content that is:
- • fraudulent or intentionally misleading;
- • illegal;
- • threatening or harassing;
- • infringing upon another person's rights;
- • spam or solicitation unrelated to the purpose of Venting Works;
- • containing another person's personal information without appropriate authorization;
- • intended to impersonate another person, business, or organization.
Venting Works may remove a listing or take action regarding an account when there are reasonable grounds to believe that these Terms have been seriously violated or that use of the website presents a risk of fraud, abuse, or illegal activity.
6. Public Nature of Listings
Users understand that profiles and listings published on Venting Works are intended to be viewed by other people.
Certain information selected by the user may therefore become publicly available, including services offered or requested, service area, availability, rates or compensation, languages, and certain contact information.
Users should avoid publishing sensitive or confidential information that is not necessary for their listing.

7. Communications Between Users
Venting Works allows users to contact one another, including through forms integrated into the website and, where a user chooses to permit it, through contact information made accessible in a listing.
Users are responsible for their communications and interactions with other users.
Contact information obtained through Venting Works must not be used for harassment, spam, fraud, or any other abusive or illegal purpose.
8. Verification and Screening of Users
Unless expressly stated otherwise in a listing, Venting Works does not verify or certify: :
- • users' identities;
- • criminal backgrounds;
- • references;
- • educational or professional qualifications;
- • licences or certifications;
- • experience;
- • employment status;
- • suitability to perform a particular job;
- • the accuracy of all information contained in users' listings.
The presence of a profile or listing on Venting Works does not constitute a recommendation, endorsement, or certification by Venting Works..
Each user is responsible for conducting any checks they consider appropriate before meeting, hiring, or entering into an agreement with another person.
9. Agreements Between Users
Users are responsible for determining the terms of any agreement entered into following contact made through Venting Works.
These terms may include:
- • duties to be performed;
- • schedules;
- • compensation;
- • payment arrangements;
- • cancellations;
- • insurance;
- • expenses;
- • the respective responsibilities of the parties;
- • tax obligations;
- • determining whether an individual is an employee or self-employed worker where applicable;
- • any other obligations imposed by applicable law.
Venting Works does not set compensation and does not process payments between users.
Users are responsible for complying with the laws and obligations applicable to their particular circumstances.
10. Safety When Meeting Other Users
Venting Works connects people but does not supervise their meetings or interactions.
Users are encouraged to take reasonable precautions when communicating with someone they do not know or arranging an initial meeting.
Each user is responsible for evaluating the people they choose to contact and the circumstances in which a meeting or provision of services will take place.
11. No Guarantee Regarding Users
Venting Works cannot guarantee that a user will respond to a communication, that a listing will result in an agreement, or that a user will be satisfied with a service or person found through the website.
Venting Works does not guarantee the accuracy of all information published directly by users.
12. Disputes Between Users
Agreements between users are entered into directly between those users.
In the event of a disagreement concerning a service, payment, damages, schedules, cancellation, or any other matter arising from an agreement between users, the individuals involved are responsible for attempting to resolve the dispute between themselves and, where appropriate, exercising any remedies available under the law.
Venting Works does not act as an arbitrator or mediator in private disputes between users.
This does not prevent a user from reporting suspected fraud, misuse of the website, or content that violates these Terms to Venting Works.
13. Moderation
Venting Works does not necessarily conduct advance review of every profile, listing, or communication published through the website.
Venting Works may, however, review content that is reported or otherwise brought to its attention and may remove content or restrict access to an account when reasonably necessary to protect the website or its users, comply with a legal obligation, or enforce these Terms.
Venting Works is not required to continuously monitor all user activity.
14. Account Suspension and Termination
Venting Works may suspend or terminate an account in cases including fraud, impersonation, harassment, spam, illegal use of the service, or serious or repeated violations of these Terms.
Where circumstances permit, Venting Works may communicate with the user before taking such action.
Users may also request the closure of their account by contacting Venting Works.
15. Availability of the Service
Venting Works is provided subject to availability.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
Venting Works does not guarantee that the service will be available without interruption or free from errors.
16. Liability
Venting Works acts as a platform that allows users to find and contact one another.
To the extent permitted by law, Venting Works is not responsible for the acts, omissions, statements, or conduct of users or for the performance of agreements entered into directly between users.
Each user remains responsible for their own decisions, interactions, and agreements they choose to enter into.
Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
17. Website Content and Intellectual Property
The Venting Works name, website design, graphics, text created by Venting Works, and other materials belonging to Venting Works may not be copied or used without authorization, except where permitted by law.
Users retain their rights in content they create.
By publishing content on Venting Works, the user authorizes Venting Works to display, reproduce, and present that content to the extent necessary to operate the directory and provide the service.
18. Protection of Personal Information
Venting Works' handling of personal information is governed by its Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains, among other things, what information is collected, why it is collected, how it is used, and the rights users may exercise regarding their personal information.
19. Changes to These Terms
Venting Works may modify these Terms of Use to reflect changes to the service, the website's practices, or applicable legal requirements.
The date of the most recent update will be indicated at the beginning of this page.
Where required or appropriate given the nature of a change, users will be informed of the change.
20. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the applicable laws of Quebec and Canada.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights available to a user under applicable law that cannot legally be waived.
